This is a rare medial or dental covered jar made from heavy glass and marked on the bottom "Sanitare Patent June 5 1906". It measures approx. 8 5/8" across and has a series of six indents along inner rim that I am guessing this was used to sterilize instruments and have them sit steady in the indents. It measures approx. 9 1/2" to top of finial and the finial is beautiful - see close up in photo. The paneled design is great! This would be a very nice centerpiece for either display or use and perfect for the dining room or kitchen or bathroom.
