Descripción del Artículo

Vintage original 27x40 in. US single-sided one-sheet poster from the classic 2000's thriller/crime drama, HANNIBAL, co-released in 2001 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Universal Pictures and directed by Ridley Scott. Based upon the novel by Thomas Harris, living in exile, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) tries to reconnect with now disgraced F.B.I. Agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore), and finds himself a target for revenge from a powerful victim. The cast includes Gary Oldman, Ray Liotta, and Frankie Faison. Rolled as originally issued, this single-sided one-sheet is in very fine condition with only scattered signs of light wear along the various portions of the edges. There are no pinholes, tears, creases, stains, writing, or other flaws. Sir Anthony Hopkins was reportedly furious and heartbroken when Jodie Foster decided that she wasn't going to return in the role of Clarice Starling; he was also disappointed that Jonathan Demme would not return to direct. Hopkins wrote a screenplay for a sequel to this movie, most likely titled "Hannibal Ending", which would've involved Starling killing Lecter. However, this was never used. Producer and director Ridley Scott had some uncertainty with the source material. In particular, he had difficulties with the ending of the novel, in which Lecter and Starling become lovers: "I couldn't take that quantum leap emotionally on behalf of Starling. Certainly, on behalf of Hannibal, I'm sure that's been in the back of his mind for a number of years. But for Starling, no. I think one of the attractions about Starling to Hannibal is what a straight arrow she is." He also "didn't buy the book from the opera scene onwards, which became like a vampire movie." He asked Thomas Harris if he was "married to his ending". Harris said he was not, so Scott changed it.
