Queen Juliana Marie was acting regent in 1775 when Royal Copenhagen received its charter, and it is said that she suggested the three wavy line trademark for Royal Copenhagen, representing the three principal waterways of Denmark. The year 2025 marks the 250th year since the founding of Royal Copenhagen. The design is molded into the porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze.
