While there are sweet varieties this one has a bit of hotness, Scoville units: 5,000 ~ 20,000 SHU. This rare variety is very popular in Europe. The slender fruits grow up to 5 inches long and and go from deep green to red. They have a strong and tasty, sweet flavor. Usually used green, but when ripened to red they can be used for frying or pickling. Plants get to 3 feet tall and are good producers. Open pollinated, 65 to 70 days.
