In 1936, during a prolonged visit to London, Salvador Dalí created the magnificent painting Anthropomorphic Cabinet. It was proceeded by several very elaborate preliminary drawings in pencil and ink which finally led to the creation of this image, today as well known to the public as the ?soft watches?. To the Surrealist Master himself the cabinet image was intrinsically connected to the psychoanalytical theories of Siegmund Freud, whom he deeply admired. In 1979 Dalí undertook to recreate the androgynous image of the Painting into a true sculptural expression, and a new stunning masterpiece was born. To assure the highest attainable quality, Dali authorized Mister Jordi Pesarrodona, the master craftsman of the Mibrosa foundry in Barcelona, to execute the casting of the sculptures.
