Without a doubt the 1984 movie was a great technical achievement, however in our personal opinion, Denis Villeneuve's approach in 2021 was the most captivating. The short sword of the Sardaukar merges elegance with a merciless blade shape. Once you hold it tight in your hand, you can truly feel what it meant to be the blade of the emperor. Materials and parts: The standard material of the blade is a high-grade magnesium alloy and you can also choose a superior, ultra high-qrade, hardened steel version. As the very first step of the manufacturing, the shape of the sword was precision CNC milled from a single block of metal. Since a simple paint job would not have met our expectations, to provide a smooth, matte surface we used the combination of two methods: sand blasting and eloxation in the case of the standard blade, and phosphate coating on the hardened steel one. The steel version has a lighter gray color compared to the anodized magnesium alloy due to its manufacturing techniques. The final step at the metal works was the CNC mill of the edges. The handle itself was precision 3D printed. Due to the thoroughness and the time invested, the blade has received an unmatch finish thats worthy for the grand scale of the universe called: Dune. The steel version is exclusively made for order! The manufacturing time vary between 4-10 weeks depending on our current workload!
