Descripción del Artículo

(2) Two Antique Real Photo Postcards, circa pre-1920. Depicting the Schooner Florence B. Phillips. Note the second image shows a broadside launch. Published by Hall Studio. Divided backs, AZO stampbox, unused. Condition: These are original photo postcards, not a copy or reproduction. They are in excellent condition aside from some light corner strap mark impressions from storage in a postcard album. Comments: The Florence B. Phillips was a schooner built in 1917 in Camden, Maine. It was captained by John B. Phillips, a ship master from Sag Harbor, New York, who managed several schooners during the early 20th century. Phillips was not only the captain but also the managing owner, selling shares to investors while keeping a controlling interest. The schooner was involved in commercial shipping and returned handsome profits to its investors. Unfortunately, it met its fate in 1924, when it was wrecked.
