Information about him in the network is almost absent. It is only known that his father, Sherman Hayes Sr., in the 50s of the last century recorded a number of successful singles with his band Sherman Hayes His Orchestra, in which he sang and played the tenor saxophone. Sherman Hayes Jr. followed in his father?s footsteps. In 1973, he recorded his debut album Catman on Barnaby Records, which included such musicians as David Cohen, Dick Rosmini, Ralph Shuckett, Larry Knechtel, Joe Osborne and other members of the Pan, White Lightning and The Litter groups. The album is an unusual fusion of swamp-rock, pop and country with a fair amount of southern rock and is now considered one of the best examples of this style, recorded in the 70s. In the wake of the debut album, in the same 1973, Sherman Hayes, with an even more impressive group of other musicians, recorded his second album Vagabonds Roost. Unfortunately, poor promotion, lack of financial and advertising support, combined with the collapse of the label, nullified all the efforts of the musician.
