These suspension springs are positioned at the top front of the washer, underneath the tub, to help support the weight of the drum during operation. The springs absorb the vibration and shock from the spinning drum. They allow for smooth rotation while preventing excessive movement and noise. Over many cleaning cycles, suspension springs can wear down and lose their ability to dampen vibration. Symptoms of bad suspension springs include: Excessive shaking or rattling of the washing machine Loud banging or knocking noises coming from inside the washer The tub moving excessively during washing and spinning Replacing suspension springs can resolve these issues and prevent future problems. It is recommended to install both front suspension springs along with checking the rear suspension springs. It is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.
