This Mother Panda started out in Swarovski’s Silver Crystal, Endangered Species collection then moving over to the Rare Encounters collection before finally retiring in 2006. During that time, she did have a Baby Panda. I also have the Baby Panda available so if you don’t want to be completely heartless by separating a mother and baby, I will offer a discount on both; just send me a message. This Panda is very special and not just because she had a baby, it was the first piece to use so much black colored crystal which had previously been reserved for eyes and noses. To pull this off so that the black didn’t show through the clear, a mirrored coating was used on the black crystal pieces. The faceting of the clear body accentuated by the black mirrored finish pieces really make this Panda sparkle, which can be seen in the different look in the pictures just by using a flash on a couple. The Swarovski Swan logo is imprinted on the bottom of one of the back paws.The Mother Panda is a great piece to add to your collection as it marks a change in Swarovski’s approach to their Silver Crystal figures with the addition of so much black. It also makes a great piece for the collector, bear lover, or new mom in your life as well as for that special someone who likes to sit around and chew on mother nature.
