Paper size of this photo print is 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". On unmarked standard print paper. This print was very likely made soon after it was taken and likely at Saipan itself or on a ship there. This came to me as part of a group identified as being Saipan and basically this shot of the base Chapel confirms it. The exact date was not noted and as the island is listed in Guinness as being the most consistent climate we can't really tell what time of year this is. This photograph shows the completed original Saipan Memorial Chapel of which a search fails to show another view of from this angle of the finished building. In fact views of this building at all are very scarce and it was replaced with a more permanent structure. This may well be the best existing photo of the exterior. Great historical value.
