The blade tang runs almost to the end and is attached with 3 rivets. The 9 inch size in uncommon as most were made in 2 inch increments. A very handy size for home or professional use. Both knives are unused old stock but one is an older model. The other is a later model with a highly polished blade. Other than blade finish, they are the same.
