Descripción del Artículo
vintage Vietnam War-era Zippo lighter, engraved and carried by a U.S. soldier stationed in Dong Ha, South Vietnam, during 1970?1971.
? Front Engraving:
?VIET NAM 70?71 DONG HA?
Large raised emblem featuring a rearing horse with the motto ?HONOR AND COURAGE? ? likely associated with U.S. 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse), active in the Dong Ha region during that time.
? Reverse Engraving:
?THE POWER NEVER WIN THE WILLING OF THE PEOPLE?
Bold anti-war sentiment, common among Vietnam-era GIs. Genuine trench-art expression from the field.
? Base Stamp:
Marked ZIPPO BRADFORD, PA ? original bottom stamp consistent with early 1970s Zippos.
---
? Condition:
Brass case with authentic age patina, wear from field use
Lid opens/closes firmly; hinge intact
Insert not shown ? please confirm if included
? Historical Note:
Dong Ha was a strategic location near the DMZ and saw heavy U.S. military presence. Lighters like this were often customized with engraved messages, slogans, or emblems, becoming personal relics of war.
---
? A true piece of Vietnam War soldier art, both patriotic and political. Increasingly scarce in authentic, untouched condition.
