Vtg 1950s Paul Parnes Black Wiggle Dress 2pc Suit 34" waist Despite being all black, this late 1950 -early 1960s dress suit makes quite an impact. A simple short black jacket tops a black wool dress that has killer curves. Jacket is made of a wool with silk topping lined in matching silk crepe. Closes at the back with a zipper and small hook eye. Dress is made of both the black wool flannel bottom and thin silk like top.Also zippered back and fully line skirt. Condition: Top has minimal signs of wear only light pulling at front see pic #5 Dress shows more wear including some two little moth holes, see pic #7,8. Also close to zipper fabric is slightly fried due to use and wash.This is a great piece of fashion history and being 60 years old condition is wearable and good .Can benefit from light fixing but totally can be worn as is. Clean and has no odors or smells. Very rare to find this era bigger size designer dress suit. I have more pic please do not hesitate to ask for them. About this label: Paul Parnes dress company was formed in 1931 by Paul Parnes and his brother, Edward Parnes. The two came from a dress manufacturing family. Their father, Louis Parnes, first began making clothing in Manhattan in 1895. This original firm was the Kings County Net Waist Company and was later known as Samuel Parnes. Paul Parnes started his own operation in 1922 and in 1927 he formed a partnership called Sadowsky, Lang and Parnes. A short time later the name was changed to Mary Lee. This company was eventually bought by Adele Simpson, who had been designing the line. In 1931 Parnes left Mary Lee to form his namesake company. They manufactured ?better? dresses.
