Vintage Brutalist Modernist Abstract Art Pierced Earrings Mixed Metals Handmade Artisan Signed Hand Crafted Sculptural Dangle Drops Freeform Bronze Brass Gold Silver Tone Fine Textured Surface Design Melted Wearable Sculpture Silvertone Metallic Center This is a wonderful pair of pierced Modernist or Brutalist Sterling Earrings. I’m not sure what type of metal these are made from, it could be bronze or brass, or another type of gold tone metal. A magnet does not stick to the earrings. They have the repeated textured abstract shapes and fabulous details that are so common in the Brutalist style. The earrings measure approximately 2 inches long and 1 inches wide. They have a centerpiece made of a silver tone metal and drip line designs. They hang down 2 inches. The fish or shepherd hooks appear to be new and most likely are not original to the earrings. The earrings are signed on the back, but I am unable to make out the signature, it looks like two sets of initials, maybe HVQ and BYR with a number below. It could be initials that had been engraved from a gift, rather than the artist signature. The earrings have the look and style of creations by Pal Kepenyes. I have also listed separately a Brutalist “Hand Pendant Necklace” that would be perfect with these earrings. The earrings are in great vintage condition as you can see by the many enlarged photographs. I have not polished these as many people prefer the original older patina that forms with age. There are a few darker spots on the silver centers, but you don’t notice without the magnification. I will leave any polishing up to you if you so desire. These eye-catching earrings will look great for that dressy evening perfect to wear with a little black dress or with your favorite pair of jeans for a casual day of shopping.
