The item is made of carved wood. The box has a nice decorative carved design with paw feet and a painted finish (see photos). The item looks to be made in Italy and to be Italian in origin (see photos). The item has fabric lining the interior of the box and the underside of the lid. The item is not marked by the maker. This item measures in total about 6 inches high, it measures about 7.8 inches from the front edge to the back side at the base, and it measures about 12.3 inches wide from side to side.
