The item is an original work of art carving sculpture by the well known artist: John Jack Murphy. The sculpture is signed on the underside of the base by the artist (see photos). The carving depicts a male and a female California quail bid on a wooden root or branch. The item is about 48 years old. The sculpture artwork has the original hand painted finish, and it is made of wood and some metal elements. This is a fantastic wood carving by a talented American artist (see photos). The sculpture measures in total about 14 inches high, it measures about 15 inches wide from side to side at the base, and it is about 7 inches front to the backside of the base. The item has some bends to the metal feet, some dust from the estate and some minimal wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). A nice large wood carving sculpture of two California quail birds for your collection. I will remove the two birds from the sculpture (to be put back in place by you upon arrival) for safer shipping. Here is some information about the artist: John Jack Murphy (1940-2023) was known as a proficient and award-winning wood carver, Jack's lifelong love of carving began when he would make duck decoys for his other passion, bird hunting. As a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He was a member of the South Shore Waterfowlers Association and a former Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America. In his later years, it was his passion for woodcarving that brought him immense joy. Jack was a proud member of the Nature Coast Wood Carving Club and served as president.
