This vintage "PAULA" Orange Crate Label is an original 1920?s printed Valencia Orange crate label. The grower and packer was the Limoneira Company, of Santa Paula, Ventura County, California. ?Limoneira? is Portuguese for lemon lands. The company was founded in 1893. The image is of a blond haired ?Señorita?, holding a small lace fan. The label is mounted under glass, with a hanger and illustration board backing, and sealed with copper foil on the edges. It is marked: ?COPYRIGHT, 1928 BY LIMONEIRA CO.? in the lower left. The lower right has the name of the printing company: ?SCHMIDT LITHO CO L.A.? Condition: In Mint Condition on the label. The back copper foil sealer edging has shifted slightly along a small part of the lower back edge. On the back is a small blacked-out area. Please see photographs.
