Descripción del Artículo

26x11x9.75?. These are the outside dimensions of this old mystery box. I discovered it today and the older owner told me it belonged to her great grandmother. She said she believed it was something that he brought back from the war. It?s very very weathered and has cracks, etc. But it has brass all the way around it with hundreds of little nails, banding it in the top and the middle if you check out the photos, when you open the box, there are boxes on either side so hopefully someone is able to identify the box for me and shed some light on this wonderful collectible. There is a total of seven hinges on this box. Most of the screws appear to be genuine and a couple appear to be aftermarket or repaired. I took close-ups of the hinges for you to be able to see them. The screws are also still in place that used to, hold the handle, but the handle is long gone. Imagine packing up everything you had to live with into a box like this being gone for months and months at a time in World War I or World War II. The packaged size is going to be quite large at approximately 30 x 15 x 12 so shipping is not going to be very cheap, it also weighs 17 pounds unpackaged so by the time I add the heavy duty cardboard and all the bubble wrap and packing paper it?s going to be at least 20 pounds. If anybody is local and would like to pick this box up in person, I would definitely reimburse you the shipping money. I?m approximately 45 minutes from West Palm Beach Florida. This is a very very unique treasure chest and I do believe this is either World War I or World War II based on the description from the owner today I will start accepting offers, but they must be at least $150 or higher, and whoever sends me the best offer will win the chest. This is a very unique piece of history and although has tons of patina, paint, splatter, sticker marks, cracks, etc. I believe this is a very valuable piece a world war history and the collectors are going to go nuts when they see this you can see where it used to have a handle on the top, but the handle has long since broken off. I will take a photo of that in the very last photo. If you need any more photos, please email me.
