Vintage Winged Dragon Pendant Artisan Handcrafted Figural Brass Bronze Three Dimensional 3D Made in United States Hand Crafted Handmade Wearable Art Fantasy Mythology Jewelry 1970s Craft Fair CHAIN IS NOT INCLUDED – DRAGON PENDANT IN PHOTO WITH ONYX STONE CABOCHON IS NOT INCLUDED I originally purchased this pendant in the 1970s when I often attended art shows and fairs in New England. I fell in love with the antiqued brass or bronze dragon that the artist had designed and I purchased two of them. I had him make one of them into a pendant with the dragon wrapped around a black onyx cabochon. I have added a picture of that pendant to show how it looks if mounted with a stone. The quarter I use in the pictures is for size only. The dragon that is for sale in this listing does not have a stone cabochon; I kept it as a dragon only pendant without a stone so I could wear it with many different outfits. It looks perfect just the way it is without a stone. The dragon measures approximately 1 inches long and 1 1/8 inches wide. It is in excellent vintage condition with a wonderful patina as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It was created with an antiqued brass and black tone finish and it really brings out the details on the body and the face, it is beautifully detailed. I believe the artist made the Dragon using the lost wax casting method. The loop for the chain is quite small so you will most likely need to add a jump ring. If you look at the one I had made with the cabochon you can see the style of bail I had added to the loop. One of the feet on the back has only two toes instead of three, I believe it was made this way on purpose so the stone can fit in easier if you have the dragon mounted. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. This looks great and is ready to wear the way it is and is quite unique. You can always have a jeweler attach the dragon to a stone you already have if you so desire. If you are a crafty person, you can do it yourself. Either way, it is sure to get lots of compliments and be a conversation starter at any event. It would be great for any dragon lover and perfect with a little black dress or your favorite pair of jeans.
