Prominent news stories include: British are closing in on Dounai - Germany's replies to President Wison's queries to go forward tonight; Week closing finds Huns fleeing on every front; Officials are sure there will be no negotiations. Condition: 6 pages, complete and intact. Good condition, with some edge tears, dog-earred pages and creasing. Comes folded or rolled, depending upon existing fold lines. Comments: World War I (WWI), also known as the First World War, was a global conflict fought between two coalitions, the Allied Powers and the Central Powers. Fighting took place throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific, and parts of Asia. One of the deadliest wars in history, it resulted in an estimated 9 million soldiers dead and 23 million wounded, plus another 5 million civilian deaths from various causes. Fighting ended with the Armistice of November 11, 1918, while the subsequent Paris Peace Conference imposed various settlements on the defeated powers, notably the Treaty of Versailles.
