Descripción del Artículo

SHOW YOUR LOVE OF MAINE, AND APPRECIATION FOR ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST PHOTOGRAPHED LIGHTHOUSES WITH THIS SPECTACULAR BANNER. This creation by artist Donna Elias is officially endorsed by the prestigious United States Lighthouse Society. Measures 29" x 43". Made by Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. BRAND NEW IN PACKAGE! Completely weatherproof, and perfectly suited for outdoors or indoors. (Pole is not supplied.) MORE ABOUT THE WEST QUODDY HEAD LIGHTHOUSE: West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is located in Lubec, the easternmost point in the continental United States. The light was originally built in 1807, under the orders of Thomas Jefferson, then rebuilt in 1858. The beautiful red and white stripes provide a striking contrast to the ocean and pine tree backdrop. A U.S. Postage stamp was issued of the lighthouse, although it depicted the landmark with 12 stripes instead of its actual 15 stripes. A local group, the West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association, has formed to enhance the experience of visitors to West Quoddy Head Light with exhibits and displays. A seasonal visitor center is now open in the former keeper's house. The grounds are open to the public and trails through the park wind along the shore and past the lighthouse.
