Ye Olde Down-Home Southern Pee-Can Cracker?-When the salt water breezes and hot sun have finished the growing of our pecans, we gathered them from the Earth and begin the arduous task of sacking them whole or cracking them open for those delicious midwinter candies and salads. It?s an overwhelming task that can make the hands sore and the tempers roar. That?s when it?s nice to have one of these steel crackers to assist at the job. This adjustable unit makes the job much easier. It measures 9 1/2 inches long (16 inches whenfully extended) 4 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches high. The steel mounted cracker is mounted on two boards, giving it stability and ease of use. An adjusting screw, makes it easier to crack a nut of any size and shape. It works as well for Hickory nuts and English walnuts as it does for our plentiful pecans. We say one-handed nut cracking is a wonderful thing. As pictured the unit weighs 2 lbs. 8 oz.
