French migration to California from the Revolution of 1789 to increase from the draw of the 1849 Gold Rush, saw many artists among the thousands of Voyagers, and Argonauts over the period arrive and begin to paint as they saw, the early history of the state. Claudine Chalmers gathers the work here, including those that were heretofore, overlooked or undiscovered. Near Fine condition, in Fine slipcase First Edition, one of 450 copies designed by the Yolla Bolly Press.
