Amazing Victorian sterling silver mourning brooch with woven hair. The brooch is approx. 1.25? x 1.5.? The front is very detailed with a floral design. There are little silver etchings around the outer rim. The backside has a little window with very dark tightly woven hair. The pin stem seats in a simple c style catch. It's a relatively tight fit and the stem clicks into place securely. The brooch is stamped with Lion purity mark for 925 Sterling and signed F.V. The brooch is circa 1822. Just a beautiful antique treasure! There are normal mild surface scratches and some tarnishing present due to preowned condition. The pin stem has discoloration. Metal purity tested and confirmed.
