Vintage Toucans Birds Trio Brooch Pin Early Plastic Celluloid Figural Whimsical Comical Exotic Tropical Three Dimensional 3-D High Relief Multi Color Three Colorful Collectible Jewelry Carved Painted 3 On Branches This is an adorable and whimsical vintage brooch or pin featuring three Toucans in a row. The pin looks to be made from cream colored celluloid that has been hand painted in shades of brown and red. The details on this brooch are fantastic, even the back of the brooch shows the features of the birds and their eyes. Each bird is standing on a little branch. The clasp is set into the plastic, not glued on the back. It is an older C-Clasp and I'm guessing this is from the 1930s to early 1950s. I don’t know for certain, if this is carved Celluloid, Lucite or Bakelite, it is an early plastic for sure, but I think it is Celluloid. It measures just under 1 inches wide and is approximately 1 inch tall. It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There may be some slight paint wear, but there are no noticeable flaws or damage. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.
