The company started as a decorating and distribution firm in Chicago in 1919. In 1946, Joseph Stetson purchased the Illinois China Company in Lincoln, Illinois and renamed it the Stetson China Company. Plates are in excellent vintage condition! The usual pre-loved light surface wear, each one has a tiny ding to edge of rim (see pics) from years of Madge storing these beauties in her china cabinet, but nothing that distracts from these treasures of dinner time history.
