It is an attractive old piece with wear and you can see that it has reinforcements added over the years to make it sturdy. There are six divided slots, and they aren't all the exact same size but they measure almost 4.5 inches by 3.75" - again it is a primitive/naive piece so the slots aren't all exactly the same size.
